Kobelt Helps Control the Tymac Tide

Oct 07, 2014
Local shipyard based in Maple Ridge launches the "Tymac Tide", with Kobelt electronic controls and steering gear helping control the vessel.

Earlier this summer, Sylte Shipyard in Maple Ridge launched the A.G. McIlwain-designed tug TYMAC TIDE for Tymac Launch Service based in Vancouver. The Tymac Tide uses electronic controls and steering components from Kobelt, at several stations in multiple locations on the vessel.

The Tymac Tide uses the Mighty Mariner Electronic Controls System, with 3 electronic control heads at various stations on the vessel to allow for station select and other functions directly on the control head. Also incorporated into the station is a 2 speed jog lever and rudder angle indicator, to provide important information back to the operators integrated into a single console.

Kobelt steering cylinders and tiller arms complete the system, providing solid and long lasting steering control in local waters.
