7085 Steering Cylinder

The 7085 steering cylinder is a durable, solid cylinder that offers strength and flexibility in sizing and rudder movement for marine vessels, available in balanced and unbalanced versions. The 7085 is also available in a Full Power Follow-Up version, the 7085-S.

For balanced, the 7085 has the following torque, stroke and displacement ranges, assuming a single cylinder at 1,000 PSI (69 BAR) at a 35 degree rudder angle / 45 degree rudder angle.

Torque:
 4,580 to 7,400 lbs. ft. (633 to 1,023 kg/m)  /  3,270 to 5,230 lbs. ft. (452 to 723 kg/m)
Stroke: 10" to 16" (254mm to 406mm) / 10" to 16" (254mm to 406mm)
Displacement: 79 in3 to 126 in(1,295 cm3 to 2,065 cm3)  /  79 in3 to 126 in(1,295 cm3 to 2,065 cm3)

For unbalanced, the 7085 has the following torque, stroke and displacement ranges, assuming two cylinders at 1,000 PSI (69 BAR) at a 35 degree rudder angle / 45 degree rudder angle.

Torque:
 10,800 to 16,430 lbs. ft. (1,493 to 2,272 kg/m)  /  7,260 to 11,640 lbs. ft. (1,004 to 1,609 kg/m)
Stroke: 10" to 16" (254mm to 406mm)  /  10" to 16" (254mm to 406mm)
Displacement: 174 in3 to 279 in3 (2,851cm3 to 4,572cm3)  / 174 in3 to 279 in3 (2,851cm3 to 4,572cm3)

Kobelt requires a steering gear torque or rudder calculation be done before sizing or ordering any steering system, to ensure the correct mix of pressure, displacement, stroke, parts and torque. Contact Kobelt or your local Kobelt partner to review this information.
