7087 - Steering Cylinder

The 7087 steering cylinder is a durable, solid cylinder that offers strength and flexibility in sizing and rudder movement for marine vessels, available in balanced and unbalanced versions.

For balanced, the 7087 has the following torque, stroke and displacement ranges, assuming a single cylinder at 2,000 PSI (138 BAR) at a 35 degree rudder angle / 45 degree rudder angle.

Torque:
 10,354 to 24,040 lbs. ft. (1,432 to 3,324 kg/m)  /  7,250 to 16,833 lbs. ft. (1,002 to 2,327 kg/m)
Stroke: 12" to 28" (305mm to 711mm) / 12" to 28" (305mm to 711mm)
Displacement: 87 in3 to 202 in(1,426 cm3 to 3,310 cm3)  /  87 in3 to 202 in(1,426 cm3 to 3,310 cm3)

For unbalanced, the 7087 has the following torque, stroke and displacement ranges, assuming two cylinders at 2,000 PSI (138 BAR) at a 35 degree rudder angle / 45 degree rudder angle.

Torque:
 24,040 to 56,055 lbs. ft. (3,324 to 7,750 kg/m)  /  16,830 to 39,250 lbs. ft. (2,327 to 5,427 kg/m)
Stroke: 12" to 28" (305mm to 711mm) / 12" to 28" (305mm to 711mm)
Displacement: 202 in3 to 471 in3 (3,311cm3 to 7,725cm3)  / 202 in3 to 471 in3 (3,311cm3 to 7,725cm3)

Kobelt requires a steering gear torque or rudder calculation be done before sizing or ordering any steering system, to ensure the correct mix of pressure, displacement, stroke, parts and torque.
